Hebrews 4:12

“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” – Hebrews 4:12.

It is important to read this verse in context, along with the verses before and after, which talks about God’s promise of rest – available here and now, and also the importance of obedience to God, which is key to entering His rest.
The Word can enable us with all the power we need to learn and follow the true will of God (Romans 12:2; Philippians 1:9). Verse 13 highlights that nothing is hidden before God – all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must render an account.
BUT, we have Jesus and His grace that flows from the Cross. In Christ, we find a God who truly understands ALL our failures and falling, and we can “with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:14–16).
